The
Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe
of Massachusetts confirmed the results of its recent council election after a losing candidate requested a recount.
Chairman Cedric Cromwell was re-elected to a second term with 442 votes. David Pocknett came in second with 243 votes.
Richard Oakley requested the recount. It confirmed that he only won 23 votes.
