A police officer from the
Nez Perce Tribe
of Idaho has been charged with voluntary manslaughter
Robert S. Wall, 31, shot and killed Jeffrey Flinn, 46, in November 2011, after a chase. Authorities in Lewis County say Wall fired his gun even though Flinn had his hands in the air.
The tribe placed Wall and another officer, Trevor M. Garret, on leave after the incident. Garret has been charged with lying to the
FBI
about the shooting.
