Connecticut bill authorizes tribal police to arrest non-Indians





A bill in the Connecticut Legislature will allow tribal police officers to arrest non-Indians on reservation.

TheMashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and the Mohegan Tribe support the bill. The tribe will be able to enter into agreements with the state to arrest non-Indians who violate state law.

Chief State's Attorney Kevin Kane also testified in support of the bill.
