Cherokee Nation spent more than $20.5M on land acquisition

The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma has spent $20.5 million on land acquisitions since October 2010, The Cherokee Phoenix reported.
The tribe and its business arm, Cherokee Nation Businesses, have acquired nearly 2,200 acres, the paper said.
The properties have all been within the tribe's 14-county jurisdictional area.
The tribe has been using the land for health clinics, government buildings and to expand its business holdings.
