The U.S. Attorney's Office in Kansas investigated academic fraud at Haskell Indian Nations University but declined to file charges, The Lawrence Journal-World reports

Employees at the school were accused of falsifying academic records for student athletes. But no charges were filed and Haskell was referred to the Department of Education, which conducted its own investigation that substantiated several claims dating back to 2007.

Haskell President Chris Redman has said the school is taking "corrective actions" to address problems with its athletics program. Haskell has been suspended by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for "violations involving ineligible players."
