Young member of Cocopah Tribe enjoying inaugural festivities

Jesse-Manuel Begay is representing the Cocopah Tribe of Arizona at the High School Presidential Inaugural Conference in Washington, D.C.

Begay, 18, is a senior at a high school near the reservation. He's been participating in workshops and events with the likes of former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark

“It's a blessing to be here to represent my family and my tribe,” Begay told The Yuma Sun.

Begay will attend the University of Arizona in the fall and hopes to become a doctor.
