US Attorneys open more Indian Country sexual assault cases

Federal prosecutors in New Mexico and Montana say they have opened more sexual assault cases in Indian Country.
Statistics show a large number of sex assault cases go without prosecution. But
New Mexico U.S. Attorney Ken Gonzales
opened more cases in the first nine months of 2012 than all of 2010, the Associated Press reported.
Montana U.S. Attorney Mike Cotter
said similar cases were up 12 percent.
