Fashion designer Patricia Michaels of Taos Pueblo welcomed Project Runway to her home on her tribe's reservation in northern New Mexico. Michaels, whose name in the Tiwa language means Water Lily, is competing on season 11 of the show. In the home visit video, she said her tribal heritage inspired her to become a designer. "Because my pueblo is progressive about wearing other materials, other than woven materials, for ceremonies, it really gave me the liberty to go and move forward and be progressive in my design ideas," Michaels said. The new season of Project Runway premieres January 24 on Lifetime. Related Stories:
