Former Mashantucket Pequot leader indicted on theft charges

Michael Thomas, the former chairman of the
Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut, and his brother have been indicted on theft charges.
Thomas is accused of stealing more than $100,000 from the tribe when he served as chairman. His brother, Steven Thomas, the current treasurer, is accused of stealing more than $730,000.
Michael Thomas filed for bankruptcy in December 2011, The New London Day reported.
