Jon Ross Townsend, a member of the
Cherokee Nation
of Oklahoma, was killed on duty in Afghanistan earlier this week. He was 19.
Townsend was killed on September 16. He was due to return home in just a month and a half.
Townsend joined the U.S. Army right after graduating high school. He recently married his high school girlfriend.
