Yanomami Tribe reports massacre at village in Amazon jungle

Members of the Yanomami Tribe reported a massacre at one of their villages in the remote Amazonian jungle.

A village in southern Venezuela, near the border with Brazil, was attacked late last month while some residents were out hunting. When they returned they said they found burnt bodies and bones.

It's not clear how many people might have died but, so far, only three people from the village of 80 have been accounted for. News of the attack took a long time to surface because surviving residents had to walk several days to reach another village.

Residents believe miners from nearby Brazil were responsible.
