Seneca Nation reaches agreement with state for highway work

The Seneca Nation and the state of New York reached agreement over a Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance.

The tribe and the state agreed to a TERO fee of 3 percent, according to news reports. The tribe had been asking for 3.5 percent, which the state opposed.

The deal allows work to move forward on the $28.5 million Southern Tier Expressway repaving project.
