Navajo Nation starts offering identification cards to members

The Navajo Nation has started selling identification cards to its members.

The cost for the card is $17. It's available to the tribe's 300,000-plus citizens.

“It is a priority that the Navajo people have an identification card that better serves the Navajo people’s needs. I am happy to announce the Navajo people can now get their tribal I.D. cards," President Ben Shelly said in a press release.

The card includes the holder's name, photo, date of birth and Certificate of Indian Blood number. It will be valid for four years.
