The
House Natural Resources Committee has two hearings of interest on its upcoming agenda.
On Tuesday, April 17, the Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands will hold a hearing on six bills.
Included is
H.R.4222, a bill to transfer land to the
Pascua Yaqui Tribe of Arizona.
The land consists of two parcels currently held by the federal government.
There is no gaming prohibition in the bill.
On Thursday, April 19, the Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs will hold an oversight hearing on a proposal to regulate
hydraulic
fracturing, a controversial energy-processing technique that's commonly known as fracking.
The
Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara
Nation of North Dakota says the Obama administration is developing the rules without consulting tribes.
