Senate Indian Affairs Committee upcoming events in April





The Senate Indian Affairs Committee has scheduled a number of events for the month of April.

Two events take place this week in Hawaii. The committee hosts a roundtable on development on Native Hawaiian home lands on Tuesday and a field hearing on S.65, the Hawaiian Homeownership Act of 2011, on Friday.

The committee returns to Washington, D.C., next week for a listening session on the farm bill and its impact on Indian Country on April 19. That same day, the committee holds a hearing on S.1684, the Indian Tribal Energy Development and Self-Determination Act Amendments of 2011.

On April 24, the committee hosts a roundtable on fish and wildlife in Indian Country. Another roundtable will be held on April 26 to discuss federal recognition.
