Indian Trust Administration and Reform Commission to meet

The
National Commission on Indian Trust Administration and Reform meets for the first time this week in Washington, D.C.
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar, Deputy Secretary David Hayes and Solicitor Hilary Tompkins will be on hand for the first meeting. They will be joineted by
commission chair Fawn R. Sharp and commission members Dr. Peterson Zah,
Stacy Leeds, and Bob Anderson.
The meeting takes place from 9am to 5pm on Thursday and Friday at the
National Park Service, Conference Room 202, 1201 Eye Street, NW.
Members of the public who wish to attend can RSVP to trustcommission@ios.doi.gov.
The commission was created by the $3.4 billion settlement to the
Indian trust fund lawsuit.
Its members will evaluate trust reform efforts at the
Interior Department and deliver a
report within two years.
