Chris Eyre to run film department at New Mexico university

Chris Eyre, a member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, will lead the film department at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design in New Mexico.
Eyre is best known for his directing Smoke Signals. His latest film, Hideaway, is due this year.
Eyre will take over the Moving Image Arts Department on February 1, the Associated Press reported.
