At least 5,100 claims have been filed as part of the the $760 million Keepseagle settlement for discrimination at the Department of Agriculture, The Weekly Alibi reports.

A significant number of claims came from the Southwest. The law firm handling the settlement said about 300 Indian farmers and ranchers from New Mexico and about 380 from Arizona are seeking a share of the money.

The settlement will result in payments of up to $50,000 for one track and payments of up to $250,000 for a second track.
