Tesuque Pueblo
in northern New Mexico says it can ask tenants of a mobile home park on the reservation about their immigration status.
The Tesuque Trailer Village doesn't receive federal funds. So the tribe said it doesn't have to follow federal or state laws that may prohibit discrimination based on national origin.
The tribe also informed residents of an increase in rent from $300 a month to $426.50 a month.
