Q&A: Elyse Umemoto of Yakama Nation leaves 'Survivor'
Posted: Friday, October 21, 2011
"This past week on Survivor: South Pacific, Elyse Umemoto became the latest Survivor casualty of the game after losing a close challenge at Redeption Island. Although Elyse made a strong alliance with Survivor all-star Ozzy Lusth, she soon found herself sent to Redemption when her Savaii tribe mates decided to break up the pair. As a result, Elyse had to fight for her Survivor life in the South Pacific at Redemption in a shuffleboard challenge, which Christine narrowly won.
Following her elimination from Survivor: South Pacific, TheDeadbolt spoke to Elyse about her time on Survivor, her alliance with Ozzy, her strategy going into the game, and her thoughts on former Savaii tribe mate Jim.
THE DEADBOLT: Looking back, do you think you should've kept more distance from Ozzy to protect yourself?
ELYSE UMEMOTO: Looking back, I think that Ozzy and I both should have made a conscious effort to play down any relationship at all, even if it was casual. We should have gone out of our way to make sure that was something that was completely private. We didn't and that didn't exactly work out for me."
