Murder charge laid over 2010 death of Cynthia Frances Maas

A non-Native man has been charged with first-degree murder for the 2010 death of Cynthia Frances Maas, who was a Native woman from British Columbia.

Mass, 35, was reported missing by her family. Her body was found October 8, 2010, in Prince George.

The murder went unsolved for nearly a year. But authorities just connected Cody Legebokoff, 21, with her death -- along with the deaths of a 15-year-old girl and two other women.

The investigation is "far from over," authorities said this afternoon at a press conference that included Native representatives, CBC News reported.
