A young member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota pleaded not guilty in connection with placing a false 911 call.

Carlos Charging Elk, 19, allegedly called 911 and told paramedics that his mother accidentally cut herself. When they arrived, he allegedly locked two EMS personnel inside and threatened to kill them, while brandishing a knife, The North Platte Telegraph reported.

Charging Elk faces three counts of making terroristic threats, two counts of false imprisonment, and one count of use of a deadly weapon. If convicted on all counts, he faces up 50 years in prison, the paper said.

The incident took place in North Platte, Nebraska.
