The
Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians in California celebrated the 19 graduates of the
Noli Indian School.
The students represented 12 tribes. They heard from guest speaker Desiree Renee Martinez, a member of the Gabrielino Tribe who works as an archaeologist.
"I dreamed I could educate the public and give honor and respect to our ancestors," Martinez told the students. "Don't be afraid to dream. Be proud of who you are and where you came from."
