The
Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians of California announced plans for a wind farm.
The tribe plans to erect two wind turbines on 83 acres of its land near a major interstate. The blades on the 265 foot-tall turbines will span 451 feet at their highest position, making them the tallest structures in the area.
“The public will have a chance to comment
on the environmental document during a
30-day public review period in the fall,” spokesperson Alva
Johnson told The Palm Springs Desert Sun.
The turbines will generate enough power for 2,000 homes.
