Eight from Spirit Lake Dakotah Nation charged for stealing

Eight members of the Spirit Lake Dakotah Nation of North Dakota have been indicted on embezzlement charges.

Federal prosecutors say the eight people stole money from the tribe's vocational rehabilitation program. Among those indicted are the director of the program and the compliance officer.

Earlier this year, five other tribal members, including two council members, were indicted for stealing from the tribe's fuel assistance program.
