Ho-Chunk Nation sees more opposition on land-into-trust

The Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin is seeing more opposition to its land-into-trust application.

The tribe asked the Bureau of Indian Affairs to place around 600 acres in trust. The board in Sauk County voted to oppose the request last week and now the village of Lake Delton has done the same.

"It's not a big surprise there is opposition," Vice President Daniel Brown told The Wisconsin Dells Events.

The tribe's application includes about 214 acres in the village.
