Jim Billie reclaims leadership of Seminole Tribe after ouster





Jim Billie has been elected chairman of the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

Billie, 67, defeated incumbent Mitchell Cypress for the post. He won with 58.4 percent of the vote, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

Billie was impeached as chairman in 2003 amid accusations of financial mismanagement. He led the tribe to prominence during his 23 years in the post.
