Popular Metis teacher facing more sexual assault charges

A popular Metis teacher and coach who has won praise for working with youth is facing more sexual assault charges involving minors.
Corey Matthews, 33, has been charged with 11 counts of abuse of a minor. That's in addition to charges he is facing involving three other minors in Saskatchewan.
According to the
University of Regina, Matthews won the
2006 Regina Crime Prevention Commission youth award and the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal. He was also nominated for the National Métis Youth Role Model Award for Volunteer Services.
