Comanche man almost finished with walk on Trail of Tears






Ron Cooper, a member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma, is almost finished walking the Trail of Tears.

Cooper started on January 17 in Charleston, Tennessee .Since then, he's walked through Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and Missouri, learning about the forced relocation made by ancestors of the Cherokee Nation in 1838.“Nearly every day has been just a really fun, educational, informative experience,” Cooper told The Oklahoman.

Cooper is expected to finish his walk in Oklahoma, today.
