The Department of Energy is inviting tribal leaders to a summit next month.
The DOE Tribal Summit takes place from May 4-5 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.
Tribal leaders will meet with senior policy advisers on May 4 and with Secretary Steven Chu on May 5.
"This Summit, with the theme Winning Our Energy Future, will foster discussions among tribal leadership, senior Departmental leadership, and tribal organizations, on the opportunities and challenges related to tribal energy development," said Tracey Lebeau, the director of the Office of Indian Energy, in a letter that was posted by the Montana-Wyoming Tribal Leaders Council.
