The
Tule River Tribe
in California will contribute $15,000 to help the city of
Porterville
celebrate its 150th anniversary.
The tribe is matching $15,000 that the city will use to put on a fireworks show during the Freedom Fest. The event is part of the city's
sesquicentennial
celebration.
Tribal council members indicated they wanted to donate the money to foster relations with the city.
