Starting next week, sex offenders who live or work on the Fort Hall Reservation in Idaho will have to register with the
Shoshone-Bannock Tribes
.
The tribe developed its sex offender registration system under provisions of the
Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act
, which is part of the
Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act
. The system will be available online and to the public.
Tribes are ahead of states in developing their systems.
