Democrats announced their picks for the
House Natural Resources Committee
, which has jurisdiction over Indian issues.
Rep. Ed Markey
(D-Massachusetts) is the top Democrat on the panel. He will be joined by 20 other
Democrats
.
“The Democrats have selected an all-star line-up to serve on the Natural Resources Committee, where job creation will be our top priority,” Markey said in a
press release
. "Our members hail from diverse regions of our great nation, and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that will benefit consumers as we fight against rising gas prices and defend America’s pristine lands and waterways from polluters.”

(R-Washington).
Rep. Don Young
(R-Alaska) is serving as chair of the newly-created
Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs
