The Ute Tribe of Utah will hold a special election next month to replace ousted chairman Curtis Cesspooch.
Tribal leaders removed Cesspooch from office after validating the results of a disputed recall. Cesspooch appealed in tribal court but his case was dismissed.
"His decision is final," Cesspooch told The Deseret News of the judge's decision.
In order to validate the recall, tribal leaders who opposed Cesspooch came up with a new way to determine the number of eligible voters.
