The Navajo Nation has lowered its flags in honor of Chris Moon, a tribal member who died last week after suffering injuries in Afghanistan.
Moon, 20, was injured after he stepped on a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. He underwent surgery and was being treated at a military hospital in Germany when he died on July 12.
Moon, a baseball star and former University of Arizona student who
left school to enlist in the military, is the 12th tribal member to die during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
