Chris Moon, a baseball star and former University of Arizona student who left school to enlist in the military, died on Monday after suffering injuries in Afghanistan.
Moon, 20, stepped on a roadside bomb in Afghanistan last week. His legs had been amputated at a military hospital in Germany, where his parents had gone to see him. They are reportedly on their way back to the U.S.
Moon's mother is Marsha Begay Moon, who is Navajo. His father is Brian Moon. The family lives in Tucson.
