Two Indian candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination for Montana Senate District 8.
Shannon James Augare is a member of the Blackfeet Nation. He will face Joey Jayne, a member of the Navajo Nation, in the June 8 primary.
The winner of the primary will take the seat because the Republican party has not fielded a candidate for the district, which includes the Blackfeet Nation and the Flathead Reservation.
