Democrats in Montana House District 15 will choose between two Indian candidates in the upcoming primary.
Rep. Frosty Boss Ribs, a member of the Blackfeet Nation, is running for re-election. Her challenger is James Steele Jr., the former chairman of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.
Boss Ribs was elected to the seat in 2008 after she defeated Steele in a three-way primary. No Republican ran for office that year but this year there is a GOP candidate.
Boss Ribs is the first Blackfeet woman elected to the state House.
