The two top leaders of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians of Michigan are hoping the tribe's court will stop a recall election against them.
Chairman Ken Harrington and vice chairman Dexter McNamara say opponents failed to gather enough signatures on at least one of the recall petitions. “I’m on pins and needles — I can tell you that," Harrington told The Petoskey News-Review.
The tribe will hold a May 28 recall election unless the court rules otherwise, election board chairwoman Denise Petoskey said.
