Members of the Southern Ute Tribe of
Colorado will vote in a recall election against Chairman Matthew Box on December 3.
The tribal council certified a petition on Thursday. More than enough signatures were gathered to force the election.
“I’m just glad that now it will go to a vote for the people to decide,” Shelly Thompson told The Durango Herald.
Critics are concerned about the Southern Ute
Indian Tribe Growth Fund. They say Box hasn't paid more attention to the
fund, which they contend is losing money.
