Standing Rock Sioux court hears election case
A candidate for chairman of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is in court today to challenge the results of a primary vote.

Avis Little Eagle, who currently serves as vice chair of the tribe, says three people weren't allowed to vote for her. She is also disputing the eligibility of five voters.

The challenges could result in Little Eagle appearing on the general election ballot. Only one vote separated her from Ron His Horse Is Thunder, the incumbent chairman. Charles Murphy, a former chairman, won the most votes in the primary.

The tribe's reservation straddles the North Dakota-South Dakota border.
