Another Oklahoma tribe is lobbying against a recognition bill in the Tennessee
Legislature.
Members of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation went to Nashville yesterday to protest the bill, WSMV-TV reported. They said it would legitimize groups without verifying their Indian ancestry.
One of the groups, the Chikamaka Band, claims Creek and other ancestry.
The Cherokee Nation hired lobbyists to remove five groups that claimed Cherokee ancestry from the bill.
