The Senate Indian Affairs Committee will hold a hearing this Thursday to discuss the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar.

The decision limited the land-into-trust process to tribes that were "under federal jurisdiction" in 1934. Congress is being asked to ensure that all tribes, regardless of the date of federal recognition, can acquire trust lands.

The hearing takes place at 2:15pm in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building. A witness list hasn't been made public.
