Historic Arkansas Museum opens tribal exhibit
The Historic Arkansas Museum in Little Rock opened an exhibit on the Quapaw, Osage and Caddo tribes. The Quapaw Tribe, the Osage Nation and the Caddo Nation lived in Arkansas before being forced to move to present-day Oklahoma. We Walk in Two Worlds shares a history that tribes say has been long ignored. "What pleases us the most is the idea that people are going to recognize our heritage and our culture, which to this point has been kind of ignored," Quapaw historian Ardina Moore told the Associated Press. "It helps to be appreciated." Gov. Mike Beebe (D) invited tribal leaders to the opening of the exhibit, which features more than 160 artifacts. Get the Story:
