Native America
Calling will air a show next Tuesday, April 14, on the Wellbriety Journey for
Forgiveness, a walk to address the abuses of Indian boarding schools.
Don Coyhis (Mohican) is scheduled to appear on the show. He is the founder of White Bison Inc., which is organizing the cross-country walk.
The journey begins May 16 at the Chemawa Indian
School in Oregon. Participants in the 6,800-mile trip will visit 24 current and former boarding schools in more than a dozen states.
The walks set to end on June 24 in Washington, D.C. Organizers will present a petition to President Barack Obama to seek an official apology for the boarding schools.
As of today, over 2,100 people signed the petition. The goal is 5,000 signatures.
