Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas is on alert after one of the tribal college's biologists spotted a potentially poisonous snake near the west side of campus.
Chuck Haines captured two other venomous snakes in the heavily wooded area on Wednesday. But he said another one -- possibly a South American bushmaster, the largest of its kind -- is on the loose.
“It’s the big guy,” Haines told The Lawrence Journal-World.
Haines received a tip that someone dumped the snakes in the area.
