A Native man who admitted he caused the death of his two daughters is taking part in a sentencing circle for his crime.

Christopher Pauchay of the Yellow Quill First Nation of Saskatchewan pleaded guilty to criminal negligence causing death. He left his two young girls, ages 3 and 15 months, in a field on a night with extremely cold temperatures.

The sentencing circle is only part of the justice process. Members of the community will come forward to talk about the crime and Pauchay's involvement.

A judge will make a final decision on punishment after the circle is complete.
