Members of the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians of California met on Sunday but failed to resolve a leadership dispute.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs is urging two factions to work out their differences. The tribe could lose federal funding and its casino without a recognized government, superintendent James Fletcher said.
At issue is the pending disenrollment of about 60 people. One faction claims the move is illegal.
