Rep. Dan Boren (D-Oklahoma), a superdelegate for the Democratic Party, won't endorse Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) for president.
Boren called Obama "the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate." He said Obama's voting record doesn't reflect the constituents of Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District.
Native Americans make up 15 percent of the district's population. Cherokee Nation Chief Chad Smith has publicly supported Obama. The Cherokees are the largest tribe in the district and the second-largest tribe in the U.S.
Obama is opposing legislation to cut funds to the Cherokee Nation over the citizenship status of the Freedmen, who are the descendants of former slaves. Boren also opposes the legislation.
