The first thing Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) told his family when he got back from Montana was that he was adopted into the Crow Tribe, his wife, Michelle, said on Monday. Obama campaigned on the Crow Reservation last month. That's when he was adopted by Sonny and Mary Black Eagle and was given a Crow name that translates to "One who helps all the people across the land." "He had the biggest smile on his face," Michelle Obama said at a campaign event, The Billings Gazette reported. "And I understand that my new in-laws are here, Sonny and Mary Black Eagle. "My girls can't wait. They don't even know what it means, but they're excited." Montana and South Dakota hold their primaries today. Both states have a large percentage of Native Americans.
